HSH has worked with Feldman on a number of projects in the City of Boston. If you’re thinking of a site anywhere in the city, the chances are excellent that they know it and even that they’ve actually worked on it at one time or another and have files in their archives! We love being on teams with them – they are timely in product delivery and good communicators about any kinds of issues that arise.
Committed to Social Impact
Strengthening the neighborhoods in which we live and work is at the core of our community commitment. We share a concern for social justice and we put that into practice through our support for local community events and education activities.
Feldman Geospatial Jazz Series
Our free live jazz series at the Long Live Brewery in our building in Roxbury is a celebration of music and community, attracting headline musicians.

Our Roxbury neighbor, Orchard Gardens
Lisa Hall from the Orchard Gardens Resident Association details the partnership between Feldman and her residents and how that has impacted our community.
Investing in our property yields community benefits
Besides redeveloping a blighted building and parcel in Roxbury, we have painted murals, brought in a retail tenant, and put up holiday lights to celebrate our community. Our goal was to create a space for our company’s office and a community space that allows neighbors to gather and enjoy. Long Live Beerworks is a high-quality microbrewery that brews unique, highly rated beer and is open to the public 7 days a week. The building and parking lot murals are meant to create a fun space and a cheerful oasis for residents to enjoy year-round.
Educating the next generation
We host children and young adults from local schools, the Orchard Gardens Boys & Girls Club in Roxbury and Wentworth Institute of Technology, at our office each year. During each visit, they learn about our work, explore our technology hands-on, and discuss their future dreams. We particularly focus on introducing girls to opportunities in geospatial and construction fields.
Investing in local, diverse talent
Our efforts to diversify and expand the talent in our industry begins locally. We provide training to promising young talent in partnership with Madison Park Development Corp. To promote gender equality, we work with the co-op program at Wentworth Institute of Technology to offer positions to female engineers. We are proud supporters of the Women at Wentworth program.
Award-winning preservation
We have a passion for helping preserve historic buildings in and around Boston, starting with our headquarters on Hampden Street in Roxbury. Our sensitive restoration of this 19th century warehouse received a 2018 Preservation Achievement Award from the Boston Preservation Alliance.
A healthy day for summer campers
When COVID-19 restrictions curtailed field trips for a local summer camp program, Feldman provided a fun day of chalk art in our parking lot, followed by a presentation on healthy eating by local company Fresh Food Generation and a healthy lunch.
Supporting local students
We purchased and filled 130 backpacks for students at the Henry L. Higginson Inclusion School in Roxbury. And we put together a plan to provide more than $3,000 worth of winter jackets and hats to Orchard Gardens kids at Christmas time.
Sponsoring stronger neighborhoods
Feldman actively supports local events. We’re a sponsor of the Orchard Gardens Gospel Dinner, as well as the Back-to-School Jamboree. In addition, we sponsored a trip to Six Flags for the Orchard Gardens Boy & Girls Club of Boston.
